21st Annual Fall Photo Shoot

The Historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is offering its 21st Annual Fall Photographers' Special on the weekends of September 25 & 26 and October 2 & 3, 2010.

Fall ElkPark_LashmettPhotographers will travel to Silverton on the exciting three and half hour trip through the remote "high country" of the San Juan Mountain Range.  While the D&SNGRR is always a wonderful experience, the fall colors in the San Juan's are absolutely breathtaking.

The first weekend (September 25th and 26th) offers "The Scenic Limited" special. The weekend will focus on the pure beauty and majesty of autumn in the San Juan Mountains.  This narrow gauge journey is certain to be a photographers paradise!

Night shot_LerroThe second weekend's (October 2nd and 3rd) special, "Silverton Branch Glory Days", will transport passengers back to 1949 to relive the autumn splendor of the Animas Canyon on a historic re-creation of a train from that time period. Passengers will disembark in exclusive wilderness areas to photograph the train steaming past with the backdrop of high peaks, autumn colors and the Animas River.  Take a step back in time by joining other guests and train personnel in period appropriate attire as you embark on this exhilarating adventure!

Join award-winning photographers Pete Lerro and Michael Ripley for exclusive "night-shoot" opportunities at the train depot each night at 7:00.

There are still rooms available as Blue Lake Ranch on each of these weekends, so call or book online today!
